Jerry Dotson is a Vietnam Veteran having served as a team leader of an airborne ranger team (Co. L Ranger, 75th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division) in 1969. It was during his service in Vietnam that he first experienced grilling out and the fellowship of cooking and eating together outside after returning from missions.
For the past several years, Jerry has catered fund raisers, small wedding rehearsal dinners, birthday parties, church functions and business promotions by smoking pork and chicken and providing dinners.
Jerry is part of a compassion team at his church, Ecclesia Baptist Church, Fairview, North Carolina, that cooks and serves a hot breakfast for the homeless veterans of Asheville, NC at the ABCCM Veteran’s Restoration Quarters.
Jerry and his wife Sandra have raised 4 children and enjoy 3 grandchildren. The best time of year for his family is Thanksgiving Day when the whole family and many friends get together around the smoker and enjoy their time together.
